2021 Terry J. Cox Poetry Award longlist

Thank you to all the talented poets who submitted their collections for our award. The process of narrowing down the selections to a longlist of ten was inordinately difficult. We thank Martha Kalin, too, for her role as judge for our 2021 Terry J. Cox Poetry Award, tasked with the unenviable duty of selecting just one winning manuscript from this phenomenal longlist.

Longlist for 2021 Terry J. Cox Poetry Award

Jodie Childers for Appalachian Apophenia: A Mythogeography of Home
Sunu Chandy for My Dear Comrades
Ellen Kombiyil for Dear Daughter
Donald Levering for Breaking Down Familiar
Jonathan Greenhause for How to Raise a Young Child
Mary Ann Larkin for What She Wants
Magaret Mackinnon for Afternoon in Cartago
Grant Clauser for It Might Have Been a Palace
Linera Lucas for How to Wait
Karol Nielsen for New Yorker

Congratulations to all poets on our longlist. The winner will be announced on April 30, 2021.
